Interview – Overrated Tour!

From the Nashville Rage. God, what a fun time I had this past weekend! Thanks to Grimey’s, the folks at the Basement, CD Alley, Lunchbox Records, Earshot Records and all the mofos that decided having me scribble in their book was a wise idea. Midwest dates are this coming week. Come on out and keep me entertained! Thanks to Philly Boy Roy, Charles, Walsby, Gus, Mike, Scott, Brian, Chris, The Disease, Cecillia, Eric, Kelly, Garland, Kingsbury Manx peeps, the effin’ amazin’ puppet show, Anna, Tbag and Mer, Hog Heaven BBQ, Cheerwine, Diet Pepsi, Hummers, Carburritos, and most especially, the 5-toothed inbred in the Smoky Mountains that couldn’t explain why my hotel reservation wasn’t showing up on their computer. No really, I don’t mind driving another 50 miles. No really, go to a dentist. Find out you like candy. Anyway, again, thanks to everybody. I can’t wait to do that trek again! (note: the drive from Nashville to Chapel Hill is 11 hours! I’ll know that the next time!)

Fun record scores for under $6? Quite a bunch! A perfect copy of the Poison Idea Sub Pop single, Live Skull Dusted, Major Stars Distant Effects, Bastards Monticello and a replacement copy of Neil Young’s On The Beach. Whee!

Most played song on my iPod? Thee Speaking Canaries.

The Pennsylvania Macaroni Company – Patton Oswalt

This absolutely hilarious recording that we did in Chicago back in April will be out in the next month!

In a fashion similar to the Patton vs. Zach CD, it’ll be limited and available exclusively at the Comedians of Comedy shows and on the chunklet site. Keep yer ears peeled. Honestly, it’s worth every penny!

Rocktoid – CSS

Band that further reaffirms the stereotype that women can’t play. Not only can’t they play, but these Brazilian women have a CD that backs them up all Ashlee Simpson style. Fucking laaaaame. I thought Sub Pop was taking a turn and actually putting out records by musicians……

The Overrated Book!

Again, bear with us, but there’s just an awful lot to catch you guys up on! This, our first book, is the biggest news! The fine folks at Last Gasp put this sucker out last month and we couldn’t be happier! We have it for sale in our store, but you can also purchase it from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders and every decent indie record/book store you can think of. What’s that you say? You can’t find it at your local emporium? Well, let me know directly and I’ll sort it out.

Look at that beauty! Design by Scott Sosebee.

You might also want to know that I’ll be out "in the field" promoting the book this next month. You can see the tour dates over there on the right. The Southern tour is what’s looming on the horizon, but there’s also dates in the midwest and as-of-yet confirmed dates in Texas and the Pacific northwest. Want to help? Want to show me around town? Well, damn, get in touch, sucker!

Holy cow! After five years! A new chunklet.com!

Yes, a new chunklet website! Did you ever think it’d happen? First, a couple of plugs. The site was completely redone/redesigned by our dear amigo Mark Wasserman at Plinko out in San Francisco! How he did this amidst being a daddy and running a successful design firm, I’ll never know, but Mark, gracias! Secondly, thanks to Joe and Don over at Mission Media in Baltimore! They’ve been hosting the Chunklet site since we went live (back in the second Clinton administration!) and have always done me right. Don did the code, Joe dealt with my annoying ass. Check back often because we have a lot of stuff to catch up on…..
